SUMMARY:2-Day Whole Body Anatomical Dissection Intensive
DESCRIPTION:Our 2-Day Whole Body Anatomical Dissection Intensive will give participants the opportunity to holistically explore the human body and is designed to teach anatomical structures and relationships. Participants will dissect for two full days working through the various textural layers of the human body and get to discover first hand the interconnectedness and relationships within the body.  Students will dissect the entire body layer-by-layer starting with the skin and superficial fascia then continue on to the muscle layers and deep joint structures instead of going through region-specific areas in separate sections. \nAlthough a short course\, it allows for broad study\, direct learning and hands-on study of the human body.  It is perfect as an anatomical review or for anyone with a passion and curiosity for anatomy. \nOur cadavers are embalmed with a special soft-fixed formula allowing the muscles and joints to retain more mobility and realistic colors and textures. This dissection course is ideal for physical therapists\, bodyworkers\, yoga teachers\, athletic trainers\, or healthcare professionals who want a deeper look inside the human body. \nOur anatomists will review general anatomy at the beginning of each day and guide participants through the dissection process by both demonstrating dissection techniques\, differentiating structures and aiding the process as needed. No previous dissection experience necessary. \nWe are grateful to our donors as they are truly our greatest teachers. We honor their generous gift to benefit the lives of others as a lasting legacy we are proud to carry forward.\nYour Instructors:\nFauna Moore\, LMBT \nFauna is our Academic Programs Specialist and her favorite place to be outside of the lab is at the front of a classroom.  Fauna has been teaching hands on anatomy for over a decade.  She also has a background in ashtanga yoga and 20 years as a bodyworker. Fauna is a pro at helping others understand how anatomy relates to everyday life.  Her inspired teaching style keeps learners interested and engaged while also making complex concepts understandable. She has done extensive work dissecting fascia\, and was a founding member of the Fascial Net Plastination Project creating the first full body fascia plastinate in partnership with BODY WORLDS\, The Plastinarium and The Fascia Research Society. \n  \nBrandon Flom\, MS \nBrandon has been enthralled by the sciences for his entire life. What started out as an obsession with astronomy blossomed into an aptitude for the life sciences. He discovered his true passion while learning anatomy under Dr. Timothy Ballard at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He continued to explore the field and obtained a B.S. in Biology\, but his focus remained fixed on the study of the body. In the interest of honing his skills\, Brandon went to Tulane University to obtain an M.S. in Anatomy. He returned to his hometown of Charlotte\, NC where he serendipitously discovered Experience Anatomy. Here he helps prepare tissue for our clients and develops content so he can spread the knowledge of the body to as many people as possible. \n  \n  \nExample of Daily Schedule\nProgram days will run 9:00am-5:00pm with an hour break for lunch. \nSchedule will adjust as needed. DESCRIPTION:Cancelled\nCourse Description: \nWe will examine anatomy of the human body in-depth over 5 days of hands-on study.  This course allows us to take a deeper dive by allowing for 5 full days of dissection. This program also has significantly more didactic time and learning resources. \nThis course is perfect for healthcare professionals and clinicians\, physical therapists and athletic trainers\, movement teachers and coaches\, massage therapists and bodyworkers\, as well as both students and educators.  No dissection experience is required but some previous anatomical study\, whether it be formal or informal is very helpful. \nThe Experience Anatomy 5-Day Intensive will be co-led by our brilliant anatomists Rachel Klaus\, who has a gift for weaving together multi-modalities of learning\, and Fauna Moore who has a rich but nontraditional anatomy background with a focus on study and dissection of fascia. Together they blend technical expertise with practical understanding to make time in the lab enlightening\, approachable\, and fun. \nWe will work superficial to deep\, appreciating muscles\, nerves and vessels as well as their relationships and clinical applications.  Every morning we will discuss the dissection plan for the day and have a short lecture from our anatomist utilizing 3D virtual reality and plastinate models. \nWe are grateful to our donors as they are truly our greatest teachers. We honor them by using our knowledge gained to benefit others.  Every time in the lab is unique and is guaranteed to be deeply meaningful. \nExample of Daily Schedule \nProgram days will run 9:00-5:00pm daily with an hour break for lunch. \nSchedule will adjust as needed. DESCRIPTION:Our 2 Day Human Dissection Intensive is an overview of human anatomy through hands-on dissection of a soft fixed cadaver. \nThis program is designed to teach anatomical structures and relationships. Participants will spend two full days working through the various layers of the human body including the viscera of the body cavities. \nThe brevity of this dissection allows for broad study of the human body as a whole and will show the rich connectivity within the body as well as all body systems. It is perfect as an anatomical review or for anyone with a love and curiosity for anatomy. Our anatomists will help with the dissection process to both demonstrate dissection technique and to ensure dissection progression as needed. \nThe Experience Anatomy 2-Day Intensive will be co-led by our in-house anatomists Rachel Klaus who has a gift for weaving together multi-modalities of learning\, and Fauna Moore who has a nontraditional anatomy background with an emphasis on the study and dissection of fascia. Together they blend technical expertise with practical understanding to make time in the lab enlightening\, approachable\, and fun. \nWe are grateful to our donors as they are truly our greatest teachers. We honor our donors by using their gift to improve the lives of others. \nExample of Daily Schedule\nProgram days will run 9:00am-5:00pm with an hour break for lunch. \nSchedule will adjust as needed.
