DESCRIPTION:Join us in the lab to see human anatomy up close and in person! \nIn this very special half day offering we will give students a chance to see and touch real human specimens from our plastinate and wet specimen collections. By getting to see and touch the anatomy inside all of us\, students will have a greater appreciation for how body systems work and how disease processes can happen. Students walk away with a greater sense of awe and wonder for their bodies and encouragement to continue studying life sciences. \nOur plastinates are real human specimens created by the makers of Body Worlds that render human tissue perfectly preserved in a dry odorless form that still demonstrates the beauty and intricacies of real anatomy. Wet specimens are the chemically preserved organs and bones that have been collected from some of our cadaver dissections. DESCRIPTION:Weaving science and art goes back to the Renaissance Age where Leonardo DaVinci made drawings of the human body as an integral part of studying anatomy. Here at Experience Anatomy\, we provide real human tissue through plastinates and cadavers for artists and scientists alike who want a deeper view of the human body. \nOur Anatomy Art course offers students the use of our plastinate as references to sketch general anatomical form or find deeper anatomical relationships that you can’t see in other 2D references. Take a step inside our lab space and dissect our softly embalmed cadaveric donors to visualize life-like human tissue\, more akin to the tissue you’ll see in an OR. Sift through our surgical tools and dissect a specific region of the body to visualize the perfect still to create an image to add to your portfolio. \nOur anatomists will help with the dissection process to both demonstrate dissection techniques and to provide additional detailed dissections of specific structures. They will also be able to answer all your specific questions pertaining to anatomical structures that you see in the plastinates and the cadaver to fully paint a picture of the human body\, form and function. Participants will come away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the human body. We are grateful to our donors as they are truly our greatest teachers. DESCRIPTION:Cancelled\nCourse Description: \nWe will examine anatomy of the human body in-depth over 5 days of hands-on study.  This course allows us to take a deeper dive by allowing for 5 full days of dissection. This program also has significantly more didactic time and learning resources. \nThis course is perfect for healthcare professionals and clinicians\, physical therapists and athletic trainers\, movement teachers and coaches\, massage therapists and bodyworkers\, as well as both students and educators.  No dissection experience is required but some previous anatomical study\, whether it be formal or informal is very helpful. \nThe Experience Anatomy 5-Day Intensive will be co-led by our brilliant anatomists Rachel Klaus\, who has a gift for weaving together multi-modalities of learning\, and Fauna Moore who has a rich but nontraditional anatomy background with a focus on study and dissection of fascia. Together they blend technical expertise with practical understanding to make time in the lab enlightening\, approachable\, and fun. \nWe will work superficial to deep\, appreciating muscles\, nerves and vessels as well as their relationships and clinical applications.  Every morning we will discuss the dissection plan for the day and have a short lecture from our anatomist utilizing 3D virtual reality and plastinate models. \nWe are grateful to our donors as they are truly our greatest teachers. We honor them by using our knowledge gained to benefit others.  Every time in the lab is unique and is guaranteed to be deeply meaningful. \nExample of Daily Schedule \nProgram days will run 9:00-5:00pm daily with an hour break for lunch. \nSchedule will adjust as needed. Dissection time will also include table side lectures as different structures are revealed. \n9:00am- 9:45am – Discuss previous day’s findings and reflections. SUMMARY:Human Anatomy Dissection Intensive: 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:Our 2 Day Human Dissection Intensive is an overview of human anatomy through hands-on dissection of a soft fixed cadaver. \nThis program is designed to teach anatomical structures and relationships. Participants will spend two full days working through the various layers of the human body including the viscera of the body cavities. \nThe brevity of this dissection allows for broad study of the human body as a whole and will show the rich connectivity within the body as well as all body systems. It is perfect as an anatomical review or for anyone with a love and curiosity for anatomy. Our anatomists will help with the dissection process to both demonstrate dissection technique and to ensure dissection progression as needed. \nThe Experience Anatomy 2-Day Intensive will be co-led by our in-house anatomists Rachel Klaus who has a gift for weaving together multi-modalities of learning\, and Fauna Moore who has a nontraditional anatomy background with an emphasis on the study and dissection of fascia.
