It’s no surprise that we have all been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and though the entire year of 2020 felt particularly targeted, the waves continue to ebb and flow into this year, and will continue into years to come.
From a company standpoint, yes, we missed out on business opportunities, and course creation, and networking, but we also thought of ideas that would have never come about otherwise.
If you read last month’s blog, you saw what a major shift our patient education program with OrthoCarolina (Orthopedic Anatomy Series) took when it went virtual, but did you know that we also launched an at-home dissection program?
We have always been focused on our local communities, but we realized that we can also bring the experience to anyone, wherever they are! The pandemic forced us to think outside the box and gave us the opportunity to connect with even more people.
Another a-ha-moment-bred-out-of-necessity came in the form of live-streaming lab trainings. Thanks to our partners at Charlotte Star Room, we successfully connected in-house laboratory participants to teams in Ireland, Japan, South Africa, and other areas of the United States.
Going digital for a company whose bread and butter is “hands-on” was not the most obvious choice, but we know now that the experience can be felt in many different ways. And we’re grateful for that small silver lining.
