The Discovering Anatomy Virtual Dissection Courses are designed to teach participants basic anatomy and physiology of various body systems. Participants will be guided through a dissection to gain a more thorough understanding of the body by our resident anatomist.
To ensure optimal learning, we have curated complete activity kits that allow participants to perform their own dissection at home or in the class room. These kits include all needed dissection tools, dissection surfaces, personal protective equipment and specimen. With open scheduling, you can participate in this course any time that is convenient for you!
Courses offered
Heart Dissection
1.5 hours — $175
Heart anatomy is some of the coolest to discover! During this interactive virtual session we will review the basic anatomical structures of the heart and the pathway blood flows through the heart. Participants will be guided through a dissection of a pig heart to gain a more thorough understanding of the structure of the heart by our resident anatomist!
Eye Dissection
1.5 hours — $175
Do you see what I see? Participants will dissect a cow eye while reviewing the anatomical structures and discussing about how our brain interprets visual input.
Brain Dissection
1 hour — $175
The nervous system is composed of billions of neurons. This course guides participants through a dissection of two sheep brains while discussing nerve impulses and how neurons communicate within the brain and spinal cord.
Lung Dissection
1 hour — $175
Oxygen exchange occurs at the level of the alveoli within the lungs. Participants will dissect sheep lungs to review the pathway air takes to enter the lungs and discuss how respiration occurs.
Digestive System Dissection
2 hours — $175
Follow the path food takes through the body and discuss and what is digested throughout the digestive system by dissecting a fetal pig.
